Day 28

Dane and our family had a big day today. Dane started his day with 3 hours of therapy, occupational, physical and speech. His therapists (teachers as he calls them) have once again said that he's doing so well in his recovery that they've moved all of his dates forward. They are now saying that he will hopefully be able to take his driver's test in 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. Also, his speech therapist has said that she feels like he will be ready to start going back to work, at least part time soon. His physical therapists have had him doing squats and other exercises to strengthen. They are still working with him mostly on coordination and agility. His memory is getting better and he's beginning to make sense about 95% of the time. The only time he isn't making complete sense is when he has a day like today.
After therapy, we went to lunch with my sis Brooke and bro-in-law Big Riley. From there, we went to Rylee's end of the year party for kindergarten, where Dane helped the kids play a game or two of twister. Next, Ry had a dance class so we hung out at the dance studio for an hour. Finally we came home and he was pretty darn exhausted. He's playing video games with Big Riley. His occupational therapist told him that he has an excuse to play them now... I'm not allowed to give him a hard time because it will help him with his hand-eye coordination. Just what he needs, another reason to play those dang things :o)
Thanks to so many people again for helping me to get through and do everything that needs to be done each day for my family. Thanks to Nicole for helping with rides to preschool for Peyton. Thanks to mom for coming over for a few hours after she had been working all day to help me scrub my toilets and get caught up on my laundry. Thanks to the Millers and Davis for another yummy dinner. Everyone keeps asking us if we've been disappointed with any of our dinners, or if they weren't something that we would typically eat. I can honestly say that each dinner has been fabulous. Thank you so much. Thanks to Big Riley for coming over to help Dane with his hand-eye coordination :o)
